Choose two cities and your vehicle class. You get the plaza-by-plaza toll with FASTag, the 24-hour return fee, the Annual Pass effect and the UPI rate if you don't have FASTag — plus fuel, if you want the full trip cost.
National highway fees are set per km by the NH Fee Rules and revised every April. Across 979 plazas with published fees, a car pays a median of ₹80 per plaza; half of all plazas charge between ₹55 and ₹110. Plazas are usually 60+ km apart, which works out to roughly ₹1–1.5 per km for a car.
Cash is no longer accepted at national highway plazas (since 10 April 2026). Without a working FASTag you pay by UPI at 1.25x the fee.
If you pass the same plaza again within 24 hours, the return fee applies — usually 1.5x a single fare, so the second crossing is about half price. FASTag applies it automatically.
Two-wheelers, ambulances, fire services, defence vehicles and certain dignitaries are exempt at national highway plazas. Local residents within 20 km of a plaza can buy a concessional monthly pass for non-commercial cars.
Fees are revised every 1 April and some plazas change mid-year, so treat results as a close estimate. Spotted a wrong fee or a missing plaza? Tell us — we fix reported errors within 72 hours and log them on our corrections page.
